Practice Management / Administration

We have undergone a re-structure at Beccles Medical Centre looking at wider ways in which we can help to support our staff and patients resulting in us no longer having a Practice Manager. Please have a read through of the below to find the best person to assist you with your query.

David Lewis (m)

Business Manager

Bio

Following the introduction of the Business Manager role, David joined the practice in April 2023. He has spent the last 20 years working in the pharmacy sector in various Senior Management and Field based roles. Together with the Partners and other Senior Management Team, David is responsible for strategic leadership within the organisation, leading for resilience, sustainability, growth of the organisation and maintaining financial probity. A fundamental part of this is working alongside local agencies such as the NHSE, NHS Norfolk and Waveney ICB, Primary Care Network, Community services, Suppliers and other internal and external third-parties.

Mrs Elaine Wicks (f)

Operations Manager

Bio

Elaine was previously our Reception Manager. However this role had expanded to the point that BMC needed to rethink how we manage the workload.

Miss Maddison Bee (f)

Deputy Operations Manager

Bio

Ms Samantha McCluskey (f)

Care Coordination Manager Complaints Officer

Bio

Care Coordination Manager – This was a role that was split into two to ensure that the practice was covered from dawn till dusk.

Sam and Maddie are available during the day at the practice and they are responsible for the day to day running of the care coordination department.

This includes the influx of calls, managing the hub team and dealing with urgent care issues, listening to feedback from patients, working with the team to respond to the demand of the local community needs and anything else that comes through their door.

Denise (f)

PA to Senior Management

Bio

Denise is the Personal Assistant to the senior management team and board.

She is responsible for managing the managers to ensure that they get where they are supposed to, with the correct documentation and snacks.

She is invaluable to the day to day running of the management team and coordinates a multitude of jobs at the same time.

She is quite literally the glue that holds us altogether and will ensure that any query that comes through gets to the right manager.

Malcolm Logan (m)

IT and Communications Officer

Bio

Malcolm has a strong background in IT management, having served as an IT Systems Manager within the Civil Service, where he excelled in optimizing technology to streamline operations.

Malcolm takes on the responsibility of managing all aspects of IT hardware and software within the practice. His expertise ensures that patients and staff receive prompt assistance with any IT-related issues, fostering a seamless and efficient healthcare environment. Additionally, Malcolm is passionate about promoting effective communication within the surgery, further enhancing the patient and staff experience.

Malcolm is committed to leveraging his IT prowess and communication skills to drive excellence in healthcare technology and connectivity.

Heather (f)

Care Quality Officer

Bio

Heather is the lady behind the scenes that ensures that BMC ticks the boxes in terms of CQC requirements; streamlines many of our administrative processes and chases up the necessary documentation that is essential for running a busy, bustling practice.

Alison (f)

Business Administrator

Bio

Alison has worked at Beccles Medical Centre since April 1997 in various roles.  She gained a Diploma in Primary Care Management in 2009 and has an excellent all-round knowledge of the work in General Practice.

She has been in the role of Business Administrator since January 2020 where she deals primarily with practice finance; submitting claims, invoice & expense claims processing, data inputting & reconciliation working closely with our accountants and most importantly processing payroll for over 100 employees.

Alison (f)

Education, Training and Apprentice Coordinator

Bio

As a teaching GP practice, Ali organises all of the students who come through our door and is always looking for patients in the local community with a long term health condition so that we can support the teaching of our future GPs.

She also ensures that staff are up to date with mandatory training requirements, considers new apprenticeship appointments and responds to managers requests when training needs are identified.

Carne Clarke (f)

Supplies and Facilities Officer

Bio

Carne joined Beccles Medical Centre as a Care Navigator in September 2022 before moving to her role as Supplies and Facilities Officer. She ensures the upkeep of the Health Centre, Caxton Villa, and Education Centre. This involves co-ordinating maintenance work and routinely monitoring fire safety.

Carne orders the supplies for all areas of the practice and ensures all rooms are equipped with what our staff need to go about their work.
